Who Are We?

Two Centers. One Cottage.

The Cottage houses two specialized centers under one roof: a Sexual Assault Center (SAC) and a Child Advocacy Center (CAC). While both focus on responding to sexual violence and abuse, they serve different age groups and provide distinct services tailored to those needs.

Sexual Assault Center

What is this?

A Sexual Assault Center provides free, confidential support to adults impacted by sexual assault, abuse, or sex trafficking. Services may include advocacy, crisis counseling, medical and legal accompaniment, therapy referrals, and support groups.

Who do we help?

Our SAC serves adults (18+) in Clarke County who have experienced sexual assault, childhood sexual abuse, or sex trafficking. We support people of all genders—including men and LGBTQ+ individuals—as well as partners, friends, and family members.

Child Advocacy Center

What is this?

A Child Advocacy Center provides a safe, youth-friendly space where children and teens can share their experiences. Through coordinated partnerships with law enforcement, child protective services, medical providers, and mental health professionals, we ensure services are handled with care and expertise.

Who do we help?

Our CAC serves children and teens in Clarke County who may have experienced sexual or physical abuse, along with their non-offending caregivers. We connect families to advocacy, therapy, and community resources to support safety and healing.

Are you concerned for a loved one?

How to Help a Survivor

If you or someone you care about has experienced sexual assault or abuse, The Cottage is here to help. Our trained advocates can walk you through available options, provide confidential support, and connect you to the right services. Friends, partners, and family members are also encouraged to reach out. We support those caring for a loved one, too.
